Media outlets that I currently write for:: In May, we honor the winners of our young writers contest. We host a party in December for members.

Services I offer to other writers:: Sierra Writers provides a venue for writers of all types to meet, share and learn. Sierra Writers offers a range of experience and expertise. Meetings are held at 6:30 on the second Wednesday of every month except July, August, and December at the Madelyn Helling Library. This includes six speakers per year. There are two “Open Reads” per year where anyone can submit a few pages anonymously to be read aloud and critiqued constructively.

For those wanting to know about word count:

Young-adult novel will run between 20,000 and 40,000 words.
Mass-market western, mystery or SF novel used to run 60,000-70,000 words.

Now they're more likely to hit 90,000 words.

Fantasy novels seem to be about 125,000 words per volume.

Mainstream fiction can be anywhere from 55,000 words ...
