After answering your email, I find that you are from Los Angeles. So never mind about the meetup tonight. If you're ever in New York, let's get together. I live in Hoboken, right across the river, but go into the city all the time. I must add that on my just-ended visit to the SF area, I was enchanted with Yountsville, in the Napa Valley, and want to spend my first $750,000 (when I earn it) on building a nice little house there.

Hi Susan,
Your post wasn't at all flinty. Your Edward Weston discoveries sound mesmerizing. I'm hoping some of that fairy dust blesses my archive hunt this week. Two great days, but the third (today) was a slog. Back at it tomorrow...I've found almost everything I need, but of course I'm looking for the lightning bolt that pulls my book together. And yes, I'm definitely planning to send a copy of Amelia to Gore Vidal!

Hi Susan,
Welcome to History and Biography Writers! So glad to know you love digging around in archives, too, and that you were actually doing it at Syracuse. I know I'm pushing their photocopying policy, which I think has a limit of 150 pages, but I'm hoping they'll be flexible. They're certainly very nice.

By the way, did you find any good places for lunch near the library? How about dinner? Would love to have your recommendations..
