A Stranger Broke My Heart Today

I have many followers on Facebook; many I don’t know personally. Many who have followed me simply because I followed them. But I do try to connect with as many as I can. I read their posts and comment on what touches me. Today, one such post reached in and gripped my heart.

I read about a woman whose life has been diminished because of health issues. She is no longer able to lead the life she once had and is now mostly in a wheelchair. Because of this, she…

Spinning My Wheels

I’ve always been a bit of a racer. It’s more than not liking to wait. I tend to rush. I’m a mission-driven, most-efficient-finding, road-plowing kind of gal. Dreams inspire me. Vision catapults me. Determination sustains me. I hit the ground running, heading straight for that triumphant finish line.

But, sometimes, instead of gaining ground, I merely spin my wheels trying.

Have you seen the movie Cars? I’m not sure I’ve ever felt more connected to a Disney…

Brown velvet box

Sometimes, in the dark hours, when the birds in the parking garage are silent, and all I can hear is the shushing of the tires of the homebound late shift workers, I think about you.

I try to remember the good times, the times in Technicolor, filled with heart and soul so deep all I could see was rich, brown velvet.

In a box,

that velvet climbed up the walls, caressed the…

DO You Really KNOW it ALL?

I receive dozens of emails a day. Some is spam but most is something I need to actually look at and respond to. On occasion I get emails from people who have written blogs or such about how to write this or that. For instance: I got one today about writing death scenes in a book. It is a short article but I think it brings up really good points. You can find that here:…

Boil the Playboy Bunny Suits...

It’s impossible to not notice all the signs, billboards and ads for the upcoming show featuring Playboy Bunnies. This has caused me a great deal of stress, not just because it seems the entire world is going backwards, but because it dredges up memories I really would rather forget.

Walking to my local village yesterday, there it was, the shiny bus ad, with scantily clad girls wearing onesies, bunny ears and poofy rear-end tales, smiling like it was fun being pawed by…

Instead of my BF'S second thoughts I'd rather....

There's a lot of things I'd rather feel than how it is when my boyfriend calls up from the other line with "this" and "that" and doubts and why he's got second thoughts and why he's leaning towards other girls, the other way, or why he's basically thinking I'm a complainer, a nag in general and why I'm beginning to be a pain. So "I'd rather..." I've thought this up more than once today. I'd rather be in a handful of places than on my my kitchen table listening on the other line  in my…

Don't Want to Cry Tonight [Why Do We Want to Be Apart of the Lives of Men We Do Not Want to Be Apart Of?]

I don't want to cry tonight. So I won't listen to "Set Apart This Dream" by Flyleaf. I can't let Holly Go-Lightly's "mean reds" get the best of me and open up the doors to the lower outlets of my sorrowed, sinewy heart.

I don't know how much more of this I can take. If you're gonna treat me like dirt when you're overwhelmed with insecurity you won't face or your own feelings of being lost then I can't have any part in you. I must say that I do want parts of you. However, I am well… Continue
