Facebug  |  Rich Larson

Vince woke up to the curve of his wife’s back. He leaned across, still sheet-tangled, and traced her shoulder blade with his fingers. She made an inarticulate morning noise and rolled over.

Salt-and-pepper stubble, thick brows, a nose broken once in a fight and twice in a rugby scrum.

Vince recoiled like elastic. “Oh, shit.” ……

New story up: Romance

A Kiss in the Rain  |  Anne Parks

He stood in front of her, dripping wet from the rain, still breathing heavy from his impromptu mile and a half run to her house. She just looked at him, not giving anything away. He understood her hesitancy; he had been completely inconsistent throughout the year they had known each other. He had…

New story up: Fantasy

The Ravening

There’s this story we all know. All who live here, I mean. You’ve never heard it, most outsiders haven’t. We don’t usually talk about it, not supposed to. Don’t know why exactly, but that’s the rule. I’m telling you now because I need someone to know I was here. Know I was normal once. By the time this gets to you, that won’t…

Enjoying Negril, Jamaica

I hope your day is going well. Feeling really blessed this morning, enjoying this life I've carved out  for myself, in spite of so many things.  Of course, money's always a little tight; haven't "made it" yet; but feeling so rich in so many things, and if God took me tomorrow, I would not regret one iota of today.

I hope this is life for you, too. If not, maybe consider changing some things ... I…

The Caribbean Sea is gorgeous today ...

Hi everyone ... I hope you had a great weekend. Doing a little foreclosure cleanup book marketing today. I'm in a villa not too far from the Caribbean Sea (Negril, Jamaica -- my hideaway). In just a bit, I will put on my walking gear and strike out for a minimum five mile walk. It's hot today; looking so forward to sweating after rum punches last night. On the walk, I'll stop by my little…

New story up: wordhaus romance

But I Am Free

I sat across from him on the black sofa-bed I usually reserved for guests, while sipping my chai tea, and I just stared for a moment. It was so strange to have this man here in my bed still. Usually I would pretend to have a meeting to go to or I would outright let them know that their presence was disrupting my work. That was the good thing about being an artist. I…

Lovely weekend ...

I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was full of outside work. Planted new azaleas, couple of cedars, and two rose bushes. Repainted an old porch bench a pretty pink color, did a couple of floral arrangements, and started rescreening my front porch. Had so much fun, but the highlight was talking to my handsome son in Air Force. Now I'm ready for a great week, and I hope you are, too.

Just got situated on porch for morning full of writing. (Had to sweep away tons of pollen,…
