HOME ALONE

They arrived with presents, one huge backpack, athletic gear, assorted hats, gloves, boots and sets of keys. The immaculately decorated house immediately took on the aspect of chaos that it used to have when children lived here permanently. Christmas had begun.

THAT CHRISTMAS LETTER!

Greetings, friends and relatives! 

Boy, the year has gone by so fast. It seems like just yesterday that I was sweeping pine needles off the floor and regretting the second piece of minced pie that I ate the night before. But it has been an eventful year, and I want to catch you all up on what we have been up to at our house!

WHEN HAMMACHER MET SCHLEMMER

Holiday shopping. It’s a curse. For eons, people have had to get in cars or carriages, and journey around to retail establishments, agonizing over displays of gloves, underwear, pajamas, baby dolls and dreidels. It was exhausting, and somehow there was never just the “perfect” gift awaiting.

BOOK CLUB

I love to read. I love novels. I even named one of my children after the heroine in a book. I know good writing when I read it, but I even love to read what some people refer to as “trash.” If it has a good story, I am hooked. My favorite books are read more than once.
