At the suggestion of Ms Siegel, I am starting to use this blog by listing some things I learned about writing this year:

1. It helps to protect your most productive writing time (afternoon for me) and do other work during other time.
2. Revising is really hard, sometimes it's easier to start over and import parts from your previous draft.
3. The best way to get better at writing is to write. The second best way is to read good writers.
4. An attentive editor is a writers best friend.

Great blog! For me between 6 AM and 9 AM most productive and between 9 PM and 11 PM. Not good for sleeping but good for writing. HA HA. Also, I agree with you on editors. I know a lot of writers who detest editors. I look at them as friends who can give me an honest objective eye. An ego is not always a good thing for a writer. Let it go a little and let someone else's view in.

I love number two! Great advice. I often start new documents, "revisionX," and keep track of changes, cutting and pasting what still works but at least feeling that I've saved the rest somewhere, as it is often too hard to simply hit "delete" for good and all. Thank you for contributing this...
