I'm really sitting here, sad as hell over a man I never met and didn't know, who died 6 years ago, and yeah, I can Wikipedia him and see for myself, he accomplished a lot in his 32 years, but I can't help but be saddened by his death. It's such a loss to music. Anytime I listen to a Jay Dee/J Dilla produced track, I just wanna break down and cry. He made the type of music that softens your heart and opens your soul to miracles... maybe I'm exaggerating, but I get lost in his melodies and bass lines, I swear, when they hit, they hit, and rattle your speakers and vibrate the floor and the walls. That's the type of music that makes me feel good. I can't really explain how Dwele's song OLD LOVAS makes me feel, but I would totally have sex to that song, lol. Slum Village's 'Selfish', which J Dilla was a member of, brings back some feel-good memories and his own track, 'Won't Do' is on repeat right now as I type... I guess I'm just sad that this man, in all his greatness, I'll never get a chance to see WHERE his music would have gone, instead I have to hear all the folks he inspired... that's not better than the real thing right now tho :-(
