I recently started blogging for Forbes about feeding my 1-year daughter, Emerson, who for now my husband and I have decided to make a vegetarian. I'm tremendously excited about the site, though it pays terribly — though slightly less terribly if enough people read it. And so, now begins the process of building an audience...

A friend — my savviest in such matters — suggested creating a Tumblr site to complement the blog, a place for extra photos, the quote that wouldn't fit, or any extras or addenda I may have post post, as it were. The more I thought about it, the more I loved the idea. Some days it can be a sort of look book for a piece, and others a storehouse. Faulkner talked about having to kill your darlings, but I may have just found them a new home.

Pretty please, I hope you'll check out both sites:

Sweet Pea: http://blogs.forbes.com/michellemaisto/

and...

A little more Sweet Pea http://alittlemoresweetpea.tumblr.com/

I'd appreciate it so much — and I'll keep you posted about whether the strategy works!

xo,

Michelle
