In this week's edition of All Art Friday, the spotlights are turned on a New Orleans-based art subscription program, The Drop; a new art advisory service at the Smith Center for Healing and the Arts in Washington, D.C.; "The Boneyard Project" of Eric Firestone; and art-book establishments.
The round-up highlights Eirik Johnson's show of photographs at Vassar College (video included), the Sackler Gallery's exhibitions "Nomads and Networks" and "Shadow Sites", Brooklyn Museum's presentation of Mickalene Thomas (videos included), and art from the Arab World at the Mori Art Museum in Japan. An upcoming Smithsonian American Art Museum exhibition about "Our America: The Latino Presence in American Art" also is noted.

Comment by Elisabeth Zguta on October 5, 2012 at 10:59am I loved the video of Eric's photography. I had read an article this week about some of the dams having pools installed to assist the fish swim upstream. Obviously they are not installed at every location. I think his eye will help restore equilibrium. Thank you for posting.
