My Dear SheWriters,
I am off to New Zealand to commune with the sheep. My passion--other than books, that is-- is knitting, and I will be learning to shear, card, and spin wool on a ranch on the Coromandel Peninsula on New Zealand's North Island. Then I will be touring wine country and exploring Auckland. I'm not sure how often I will have access to email, and Sarah Saffian, Editorial Director of SheWrites, suggested that perhaps it will be nice not to be tethered to a computer-- that technology would "harsh the mellow" (love that phrase).
So I'll be out of touch until Christmastime, and I hope in the meantime that you will flood my inbox with questions. This is supposed to be a question and answer column, but when I don't hear from you guys, I end up pontificating on whatever I'm thinking about at the moment. I want to be a helpful source to you, not a soapbox shouter. So please, send me your burning questions, your rants about big-business publishing, and your frustrations about the wonderful but challenging life of a writer. Or just say hello, and I'll pass on your greetings to my woolly friends.
All my best,
Lea Beresford
