Eight years ago I wrote my first book. It had not been something I had planned to do. One day the thought just came into my head, I want to write my own book, six months later the first draft was finished. Writing a book was the beginning of my journey. Once the book was finished what to do next? Well this had not been something I have studied before so there was a lot for me to learn. Research is something all writers have to do, and it makes life a whole lot easier if you love doing. For me this is not a problem as I love learning new skills.
Of course being a new writer I started off with confidence, I felt for the first time in my life I was doing what I was born to do. Writing is something which feels natural to me, it had been the easiest, most enjoyable thing I had ever done in my life. I really felt like I had found my life purpose and finally had an outlet for my message. Life had not always been easy for me and I felt that maybe I could help other's help themselves with my stories.
After many rejections my heart became heavy and I just could not put myself out there. I had to work like most people do in order to survive, and writing was not paying the bills. I still felt that this was something I was born to do. Last year I wrote my third book, for the writers month competition. I decided that it was the time again to pursue my dream.
As I continued with my with my research I came across self publishing with Amazon for Kindle something I did not know about but it sounded like the answer to my prayers. After rejections of the past I believed that it was time to believe in myself. It was scary to put myself out there, but I am happy I have. If you have a dream the most important thing is to believe in yourself. That is what I did. Of course this is just the beginning. As I go through the process I will share any useful tips I learn along the way.
