I have a many friends who work as nurses. One of them named Samantha decided to join this career right after high school. She was quite young then but now as she looks back she thinks that it was the right think to do. Another right decision that made during her career was to get herself CNA insurance. This covered her against the frivolous lawsuits filed against her a couple of times during the early months of service.
Samantha had received insurance coverage from her employer as soon as she joined and was quite contended by this coverage. It did not strike her to buy a CNA malpractice insurance till she saw one of her colleague almost losing her job and her license.
She realized that the employer's policy did cover her but it had several limitations. It protected the employer's interests and was bought to protect their specific needs.
An employer's policy might state that if a lawsuit is filed against you, the lawyer who would represent you would be hired by the employer. As this lawyer is hired by your employer, the protection of interests of your employer might be a priority for the lawyer (and not you).
Your hiring manager might convince you not to get a malpractice insurance at all as you are covered by your employer, but a malpractice insurance is always safeguard your interests before anyone.
There are several insurance companies that provide you with this kind of service. But before you buy an insurance for yourself, check the CNA insurance details [see bestcnainsurance]. See what all your insurance company will cover. You might have to shell out an extra amount for extra coverage, which I believe is really worth it. Thus, there are several benefits of malpractice insurance for nurses and you must buy yourself a good policy as it is really worth it.
