This is a pretty sad tale..
Big Al reviews book online, author responds - all hell breaks loose in the Comments.

Despite the aggressive nature of the author's comments, I am sure she is feeling pretty devastated at the turn of events, hope she can put it down to experience and take something positive out of the whole saga.

Big Al's blog is going viral. I've received another link to it. I wonder how many hits it's going to get? It's unfortunate that Jacqueline Howett couldn't walk away from her computer. This blog will be used as a teaching tool, unless there are more examples of an author losing it over one review (and the review wasn't that bad).

That is such a useful rule :) Shame you only realise how useful, once you have broken it once too often! Easy to forget that the world is watching, as you fire off a response in the heat of the moment. Hope she has some good friends to help her pick up and dust off..

Thanks for bringing my attention to this blog. It reminds me of the 24 hour rule. Give yourself 24 hours to respond to something that upset you. If you're still upset, say something. If not, be glad that you didn't make a fool of yourself and make things worse.
