Donate to Girls Write Now in Honor of Kamy's OWN Birthday (Which Was Monday!)
I couldn't let another day go by without asking the She Writes community to join us in celebrating Kamy Wicoff, SW Founder Extraordinaire, true inspiration and true friend to women writers everywhere, a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY this week!Want to give Kamy a birthday present she won't forget? Donate to Girls Write Now, where Kamy has generously instigated a $10K summer fundraising challenge. If GWN hits the $10K mark by September 1, Kamy has pledged to match it dollar-for-dollar. The money will help GWN move to a new midtown headquarters large enough to fit their ever-growing programs designed to mentor the next generation of women writers. So please donate to this incredible nonprofit, either to honor Kamy or to honor a mentor in your writing life. Let's face it -- many of us would not be the She Writers we are now if we hadn't first been girls who wrote then.

Wow, happy birthday Kamy!! Count me in, had GWN or SW been around so many years ago when I was young and less afraid to write, what path my life might have taken ... would some of those characters I closed the door on be now permanent guests at my table and on my bookshelf? What a lovely and generous thing for you to do. Hope this is your best birthday yet.
