As I opened my eyes this morning, I was awakened to the truth that all that I was having was just a dream – not real, just a part of my subconscious. Barely remembering what my dream was all about, I knew I was feeling anger before I moved away from dreamland.

As I finally made my transition from my subconscious to my conscious being, my anger changed into anxiety. What was I anxious about? I thought, but I couldn’t seem to find the right answer. I channeled my attention to my body sensation and I was made aware that loneliness was conquering me. I looked at the clock – it was 8:30AM. Drowning into my sea of emotions, I couldn’t make myself get up from bed to start my day. My mind was instructing my body to move, but my body resisted. It seemed to have a mind of its own.

My life is so meaningless, I thought. I feel so lost. I don’t know where to go. Hesitant to even communicate with God, I forced myself to say my daily morning prayer. At that instant, I felt a sense of calmness all over my body. As I finished with my prayer, I fell back asleep.

When I woke up, I realized my mind again just retreated from dreamland. But as I paid attention to my body, peace was all over me. I held out a deep sigh. I felt my heart beating in beautiful rhythm. I wiped the perspiration off my forehead with my hand. It’s a warm day, I thought.
I finally managed to get up from bed, arranged my pillows in a pile, and folded my blanket. I felt more warmth as I saw the cute face of my doll, as if smiling at me and telling me she loved me. I love you, too, sweet! I thought, as I placed her on top of my pillows.

It was almost noon and I felt the heat of the sun nearly reaching its peak. I looked outside and saw its rays illuminating through our dull-looking backyard. It gave me a positive energy – an optimism that sunrise follows the dark of night. It was such a lovely sight.

Suddenly, the skies shifted from its sunny disposition to a blanket of dark clouds. I watched the brightness fade away as heavy drops of rain came pouring from the sky. My ears listened to the sound of raindrops falling on our rooftop. The sky sounded angry, I thought. Soon, strong winds came blowing at random directions. It made me realize that the sky must be trying to prove its power over Mother Earth. I think it just did, I reflected, as every time it rained, all the moving creatures of the earth search for nothing else but shelter.
The sky’s anger did not last long. Soon the rain stopped, and silence filled the air. I was again, left with my own thoughts.
