IN MY MIND'S EYE
From my mind's eye I see a clear, blue, translucent, body of water.
With a sandy bottom shimmering like diamonds
Crystal beams of sunlight are bathing the palms, which are swaying with the tropical breeze
Dolphins honing their skills with aeronautic ballets, curtsying with the waves
While sea oats release their seedlings to the winds
Sand castles are becoming a distant memory as the ocean embraces the grains of time back to her womb.
I smell the salty air as it fills my lungs, like a cleansing of the soul.
Kamikazes ride the winds, waiting to dive for their food, high shrilled calls reminiscent of ‘sirens’ from ancient times.
In my mind’s eyes, I see my footprints in the sand and feel the sea foam as it caresses my feet.
Oh, how I need to seek refuge from this world and survive these turbulent waters.
Do I dare tread forward and face this ocean, to drown myself in sorrows?
Or, do I find a anchor to secure myself to the ground?
In my mind's eye, this is only a dream and...
I must return to reality of this world!
