I can’t wait to get to the point where I’m experienced enough, to share tips with other writers, and indie publishers.  I’m not there, just yet.  But I’m working on it.  For now, I’m just taking advice and honing my craft, so that I can grow into my best self, as a writer.

I’ve been writing stories since I was a child.  When my teachers would give vocabulary word lists, to put into sentences, I’d turn them into stories.   My mother is an avid reader, which I’m sure is why I love to write.  I love playing with language and expressing myself in colorful ways.  I get a rush when I put the perfect words together, with rhythm and spirit.  I imagine it’s the way a musician feels when creating music.  The way any artist feels when they are engulfed, completely immersed, in doing what they love.  The weightlessness of being in the zone.   It’s a wonderful place to be.

If I work hard, with a little luck, and a lot of support, I believe I can become one of the fortunate people in the world, able to make a living doing what I love.  Even if I’m not able to, I’ll never stop, because writing is who I am.  It’s in my bones.  It’s one of the few constants in my life.

I’m glad to be a part of female fiction revolution, and I hope my contributions make women, including my mother, laugh, cry, and most of all, relate and be proud.

"I'm an edit-as-I goer, but the problem with that is it's like dragging a weight behind you when you're trying to run a marathon. I'm trying harder to just get the story down then go back and edit, add, and cut."
