As more and more members join us here in the SheWrites community (closing in on 3,400!), we continue to see many great and diverse events happening all over the country. Here’s what’s going on this week:
Los Angeles
Erin Hosier is hosting
Literary Death Match at 8pm on August 11 at
CineSpace. The event will feature Joshua Lyon, Melinda Hill, Rich Ferguson, Chris “Whitey” Erickson, Mark Sarvas, Sarah Thyre, and Alison Becker.

D.L. King is starting off her
West Coast book tour at
Hustler Hollywood on August 12 at 7pm. She’ll be reading and signing her new book
Where the Girls Are: Urban Lesbian Erotica. Her book tour will also find her in San Francisco at The Center for Sex and Culture on August 14th, in Portland at The Q Center on the 16th, and in Seattle at The Center for Sex-Positive Culture on August 17th.
Evanston, IL
Northwestern University will play host to the
Summer Writers’ Conference featuring the “Writers in Cyberspace” panel, featuring SW member
Kate Harding, along with Wendy McClure and Claire Zulkey. The panel will be at University Hall on August 13 from 9-10am.
Little Falls, NJ
The Fine Grind will play host to a book signing for
Diane Lockward’s second poetry book,
What Feeds Us, on August 15 at 10am.
Lincoln City, OR
Minnette Meador will be on hand at
Bob’s Books on August 15 from 12-3pm to sign copies of her various books for the Lincoln City Book Fair.
Woodside, NY
SW member
Nancy Agabian will be a part of a reading called
Our Side: A Creative Nonfiction Read on on Cultural Identity which will be held at
Topaz Arts on August 16 from 1-4pm.
Denver, CO
Carleen Brice will be doing a reading and book signing of
Children of the Waters from 6-8pm on August 16 at
West Side Books.
