Our thoughts with the people of Joplin after tornado

I was on vacation when I hear about the devastating tornado that has torn through Joplin, Mo.; I immediately rang a close friend of mine who lives near the area, and works for my book publisher as well. It has been a difficult story for any media member to cover. But news staffers at the Joplin Globe are living through it, as well. Eight more lost their homes to the twister, including a respected colleague and dear friend, staff writer Jeff Lehr. I've heard the damage will be monumental; at this point I just give my prayers to the people of Joplin and hope the fed government is doing all it can to help.
