A few weeks ago, the annual EVVY award presentation took place through the Colorado Independent Publishers Association. For any author, winning a book award makes the writing and publishing process that much more fulfilling.

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be shining the spotlight on 2012 EVVY award winners. This year, a few new categories were added for audio books and also e-books (electronically published books).

"I find that at about 30k words, it's good to step away for awhile. At this point I usually skip to the end and flesh that out. Then when you come back to your story, you have a better idea of where you're going and how to get there."
