She Writes DC Meet Up's 1st anniversary celebration at Teaism

L-R: Mary L. Tabor, Ananda Leeke, Shawna J. Kenney, and Glen Finland

Happy First Year Anniversary SheWrites.com!

Last night I (http://twitter.com/anandaleeke) sat waiting in Teaism, a woman-owned tea house/cafe, for women writers to join the DC celebration of She Writes' first year anniversary. Three dynamic women appeared: Glen Finland (www.glenfinland.com), Mary L. Tabor (http://twitter.com/maryltabor), and Shawna J. Kenney (http://twitter.com/shawnajkenney). We had a great time eating Asian-inspired cuisine as we shared stories about our writing lives, books, families, and favorite women writers. We each took turns reading the She Writes Credo. It was powerful to hear each statement. Affirming and inspiring! We also swapped books, took plenty of photos (see them on Flickr), and recorded several videos. See one video below. I will post the others later this week. The night ended with blowing out the candle, well wishes, and hugs filled with sisterhood love!
