Maybe you have noticed that I haven’t been updating the column lately. The reason is that this space is for Surviving the Draft—a blog all about the art and practical aspects of writing, and not about the publishing, marketing, and business side of things. As you may know, Silver Sparrow, my new novel will be published in six weeks. And, simply put—all I think about these days is the publishing, marketing and business side of things. Because of this, I haven’t been in the right head space to write this column.
I miss blogging, however. Putting my feelings and experiences out there and connecting with other women writers has been such a nourishing experience over these last few months. I talked to Kamy about it and we agreed that it made sense for me to move over to Countdown To Publication. I hope that you will be able to join me in the new space.
I’ll go into more depth in my first post, but my Countdown will be a real inside look at what happens when a book is “born.” Silver Sparrow is my third novel, so I am not a rookie, but I feel that I am covering a lot of new ground and I want to take you with me on this journey.
So, as they say—every goodbye ain’t gone. I’ll see you in a couple of weeks.
