Support Women Writers By Bidding On Women Writers!

Ever wish there were a way to improve your own writing while supporting all women writers?

Well there is. Right now through Thursday at 9PM ET, you can bid in the Women, Action & the Media Benefit Online Auction, on items for you or another writer in your life, including:

-The chance for Katha Pollitt, Rebecca Traister or Kate Harding to edit your work and provide their expert feedback
-A spot in The OpEd Project's Write To Change The World Seminar, the gold standard training in teaching women how to write OpEds that get published
-The chance to have dinner with legendary journalist Maria Hinojosa or trailblazing feminist writer Jessica Valenti
-Inspiring, one-of-a-kind signed promotional posters for books by some of your favorite authors, including bell hooks, Marjane Satrapi, Jane Hamilton, Sarah Waters, Suzan-Lori Parks, Jennifer Weiner, and others

(There's also plenty of fun stuff that's not directly writing-related.)

The best part? Every bid supports Women, Action & the Media. WAM! started in 2004 as a project of the Center for New Words. In its first five years, WAM! has already grown from a small-but-spirited gathering of 100 women to an influential national force that this year convened more than 600 activists and media-makers from 29 states and 9 countries, and recently forced the Washington Post to revise its editorial policy after WAM!mers publicly protested yet another sexist slur aimed at Hillary Clinton.

And now WAM! is transforming into an independent national nonprofit dedicated to building a robust, effective, inclusive movement for gender justice in media. And you better believe that means we'll be agitating for women writers everywhere! Many SheWrites members are already involved.

So bid now and help spread the word about the auction - and make it a happy holiday for all women writers!

This is amazing! I am going to bid on the Sarah Haskins item. I am kind of obsessed with her. If you want to have a very nice break in your day, check her out on Current TV, she is the best. Also love Katha Pollitt, of course, and just about everyone else on this list! I will spread the word...
