All week I have been sharing information about local artists and venues that support them.
Today is First Friday in many communities, including Doylestown. All through town you will find great food and music. Some of the stores in town are big supporters of the arts.
If you are a frequent reader of this blog you have heard me talk about Chris’ Cottage and the Hens Teeth before. They are located on West Oakland Avenue right across from the parking lot. Tonight they are having a fall open house from 6 to 10 pm. Stop in for a glass of wine and snacks. There will be special discounts on selected items. While you are there take the time to talk to the ladies. Let them show you what they have to offer from local artists. Both are big supporters of the arts in the community.
Chris’ Cottage features fabulous furniture fashioned from reclaimed barn wood crafted by a Lancaster County artisan. Simply gorgeous! She also carries paintings, photography and handmade cards by bucks county artists. Chris also partners with ML Decor to do a wide variety of home decorating including staging for re-sale.
Hens Teeth showcases a unique collection of handcrafted wares by more than 80 local, regional, and national artisans. Lisa features gifts for baby, jewelry, women’s clothing, hats, and accessories, housewares, art, and one-of-a-kind pieces of exceptional quality and design.
If you are in the Doylestown area, please stop in this evening. You will be glad you did.
