We each can remember moments in past relationships that grew us up somehow. After the longing and hurt fade, we are left appreciating how we changed and were moved by love. This poem reminds me of this, and how even after your last goodbye, you're still in each other's hearts somewhere.
That Kiss
Sitting side by side
I saw the smoke in your eyes
As you leaned in to kiss me
With a practiced tongue
That teased my mouth
And left me hungry for more.
I can still feel your lips from that kiss
Lingering like a creamy truffle
In my pliant mouth
While you whispered secrets to me
Of pleasures yet to come.
