its been a while since i wrote anything here, almost a year. in june of this year i started writing a short story which has turned into a book series called The Candy Machine. inspiration took hold after a trip to Montauk, LI and i roamed around the military base there also known as Hero Park. my bf told me about the place and i saw some eerie photos of abandoned bunkers but i didn't know the history attached. i am glad for this b/c knowledge didn't override my natural senses of the place. i felt watched while i was there though, besides me and my bf, no one was around. no one i could SEE that is. it was only when i returned to Brooklyn and looked up information on the place did i become obsessed with the rumors of abductions and brainwashing and even the ability to make people invisible through experiments performed on people in the rooms underground there. maybe this is why i felt watched by someone near the restroom facility. i spent a great deal of time staring at the radar tower there and am still convinced that while i was in a sort of hypnotic state during the fact, the entire book series came to me. i returned home and turned the short story i began before visiting into the first book of The Candy Machine series, which is about to be released.
