Today's post is a brief profile about Alice Herz-Sommer, a concert pianist imprisoned in Theresienstadt and the subject of the moving documentary "Dancing Under the Gallows". I've included the trailer for the film.

Late last night, I posted a new poem, "By the Rules", inspired by a real letter to a newspaper advice columnist.

Another friend had sent the video, so I was all the more appreciative of your post, with its tribute to the enduring spirit of Alice Herz-Sommer. Music is, indeed, a saving grace, and something that bonds us beyond words. Your timely, beautiful poem brings another kind of music to the equation.
