You were so busy living life, you didn’t keep track of the years flying by. No one offered the advice that 60 would be here some day. As the train whistle blew, coming down the track, getting closer, though, you knew. You knew that there was no going back, that each day was precious, that life was not a dress rehearsal.

You started handing out that advice to younger people: Don’t fret over what will happen, enjoy what is happening. Do more, see more. Don’t wait until you’re older to do things. You may not get older. Or, you may one day be 60 and wonder where the days went. What did you miss as you flew through the day, heading for the next one, and the next one…

Someone is whispering in my ear, “enjoy 60, it’s a great time of life. Some day you’ll be 80.”
