Over 1000 people campaigned outside Liberal Democrat headquarters today to protest in support of electoral reform. They had marched from Parliament Square to deliver a petition to Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg. The petition is signed by 30,000 people and states:
“This Parliament does not represent us.
We demand fair votes now.
There must never again be an election under this broken system.”

The demonstration, organised by Take Back Parliament and POWER 2010 demanded that Nick Clegg held true to Lib Dem principles of reforming the British voting system in any negotiations with the Conservatives or Labour party.
In a ‘very British’ protest, they chanted “We want to speak to Nick” waving banners with the slogan “Does Nick agree with us?” and “Fair Votes Now”
