Wrangling With Writing SSA Writing Conference October 12-14, 2012

Writers’ Conference, “The New Century in Publishing.” Since the last SSA conference in 2010, the world of writing and publishing has changed in many significant ways. Of course, SSA will have a selection of tried and true sessions to help you hone the craft of writing, along with sessions detailing current trends in publishing, marketing, doing your own PR, and sessions discussing current trends in hot topics and genres. The conference will be take place October 12-14, 2012, at the DoubleTree resort in Tucson. Rooms are available at a reduced price of $99+tax and are based on double occupancy. We will have approximately 20 breakout sessions, two panel discussions, and two impromptu events; one at the beginning and one at the end of the conference.

Authors will also have the opportunity to “pitch” their ideas to agents, editors and publishers in 10-15 minute pitch sessions at a cost of $20 each.
Early bird registration is $195 for SSA members until August 31, 2012. After August31, the price goes up to $215. Non-member registration is $245. Don’t wait! Seating is limited to the first 150 registrants!
There is a writing contest with three categories:
• Best Query Letter,
• Your First 100 Words
• A poem celebrating Arizona’s first 100 years of statehood.
