I too am a new writer, new to the social media self-promotion thing and new to shewrites! I saw a question you posted earlier this month about creating a blog. I read a book called Are You There Blog? It's Me, Writer by Kristen Lamb -- very helpful in social media specific to new writers. Also read Blogging for Dummies which was surprisingly helpful. :) I took the plunge and have been blogging a few weeks. Still struggling with not getting many comments, but people are starting to share my posts on facebook and twitter (one of them at least) so that is encouraging. I linked the blog to my facebook personal page and that will show my posts starting tomorrow... fingers crossed. :) You can check it out if you would like - it is a work in progress http://cherylfassett.wordpress.com/
