I saw your post on the Memoir Group page and read your first chapter of your book. I must say as uncomfortable as it was to read, I was definitely pulled into the story. I would have to go back and re-read it to even critique it. I too am working on a memoir of abuse, however, mine is more along the lines of emotional abuse and growing up in a broken home. I am very eager to read more of your work and will be keeping an eye out for more. If you get a chance here is the link to my blog on She Writes: ~Kate's Memoir Journey~
Heather, I wrote you a letter, but I have no idea where it ended up. I hope it gets to you . . . somewhere. What I didn't mentiion is that I've written a book called, "Miracles, Yours For The Asking." It's based on my spiritual experiences once I turned my life over to Jesus. I always liked the description of my life before I met the Lord. "Being breadwinner for two small children and a house was like being on a flimsy raft in the middle of the ocean during a storm. You're always one step away from destruction." Of course, once you have God in your life, He calms the sea and transforms your raft into a safe ship.
Welcome. As a former member and current group leader, this group has been immeasurably helpful to me. We have monthly online chats in which we share info and ask for advice about submissions. I cannot recommend it enough.

Heather, We're delighted to have you in the novelist group! You might introduce yourself by telling us what you’re working on in the “Show Me Your Novel and I’ll Show You Mine” discussion if you're not too uncomfortable talking about what you're working on. We save the wall for discussion, so please refrain from linking to blog posts there, but do add them in the “Links to Helpful Blog Posts for Writers” discussion thread.
And we do a live chat on Fridays at 3EST; instructions on how to participate are in the "Our Water Cooler" box near the top of the group page.
Well, thank you for commenting back! I think doing the close captioning for your pastor is cool! And we have learned here in the group, ALL writing is good writing and always improves you. Ill be looking forward to seeing you around the group as your time permits then!
Thanks for friending me. I'm in the midst of a few major projects, but in a couple of weeks, I'll be breathing easier and look forward to checking our your blog and getting to know you. Thanks.
I am pleased to have you as a member of my group Blooming Late!
I saw your blog link on your profile and think it's quite good and very straight talking about things which is very needed. I was also an abused child and appreciate people who are trying to help others like us through what has happened to us.
As you may guess, there are many wonderful women in our group from all genres and levels of writing who are a real source of support, encouragement and inspiration for writing. I hope that you will be able to make your writing home with us!
We have many things going on in here and future plans for the group, take a look around our discussions and familiarise yourself with whats going on and participate where it will do you the most good. You dont have to follow any of the discussions unless you find one or two that will help encourage or inspire you. What I do ask of you though is if you would set your settings to recieve our emails so that when something is going on in the group you will be informed with everyone else.
We also have the pages section which can be found directly on the left of the group page. There you can add that great blog of yours, add your birthday, what you write etc. according to each page. But please be sure to add your Facebook/Twitter handle links in the page for it right away so that our members can connect with you.
We are starting a wonderful project that is going to expand the promotional ability of this group exponentially and so as time allows we would really like you to also "friend" every member in here as well as connect with all of them on FB and Twitter so we can all be connected with each other. Thank You!
Thank you for being here and WELCOME the the group!

"Alison - check out She Writes Query Critique v 2.0 group. I've gotten good feedback there in the past. Also, Agent Query Connect is a great source too (but be prepared to pay it forward there and offer others critiques in exchange for your own)."
"Meg, great news! Congratulations! Now, on to query letters... do any of you know of or have a "query critique" group? I'm on my fourth draft of this bad boy and have recently had it picked apart by a prominent agent…"
