Oh, thank you! And the road to getting the story published was ... well, not anywhere near as harrowing, but really the hardest because it was such a personal story. It spent years in a drawer based on the bad advice of a writing teacher. (I originally wrote it as fiction.) When I finally pulled it out, it was way the quickest I've ever placed a story, and got me a personal letter from The New Yorker.
And delighted to have you in the novelist group! You might introduce yourself by telling us what you’re working on in the “Show Me Your Novel and I’ll Show You Mine” discussion if you're not too uncomfortable talking about what you're working on.
And we do a live chat every Wednesday at 1EST; instructions on how to participate are in the "Our Water Cooler Wednesdays" box near the top of the group page.
