Hi there--just wanted to drop by your page and invite you personally to our first-ever She Writes Boston meetup, celebrating She Writes' one-year anniversary! The Boston gathering will be hosted by none other than Jaclyn Friedman, author of "Yes Means Yes: Visions of Female Sexual Power and a World Without Rape (and one of Publishers' Weekly's Top 100 Books of 2009)," and visionary leader of Women, Action Media (WAM!). At the meetup writers will take part in the She Writes "Book Communion," where attendees arrive with one book, their own or another She Writers', new or gently used, and leave with another book as a meaningfully way to support one another's work. We will also be blowing out a candle and making a wish for our upcoming writing year -- along with She Writers gathering in 16 cities around the country. I hope you will be part of this historic (well, at least kind of cool) occasion, and RSVP now to Jaclyn here.
Glad to have you join us in the Novelist – Struggling or Not group, Karen. You might jump in by telling us what you’re working on in the “Show Me Your Novel and I’ll Show You Mine” discussion. I’ll look forward to chatting with you!

Hi Karen,
Wonderful to hear from you and "meet" you! I like your phrase about your boxing instructor...You piece about the Hakoah is great - I talk a bit about the women swimmers from Watermark in my book....I'm having an excerpt published in the Forward next week, and I'm writing a short article on upcoming Salita vs. Khan fight for them, but it would be thrilling if you do a review for them (Or anywhere). For a galley or ARC, write to fran.keneston@sunypress.edu She is Marketing Director
Welcome to the NaNoWriMo-group. I am glad you found your way there :-)
Did I remember right and you were featured on the NaNo-website with your young writers? I am not sure if I remember that right but I do remember reading with astonishment about what the Young Writer's program looks like in action. Would love to do something like it, maybe once my son is in school.
flower shop photo taken in Rome in FEBRUARY !!! I was there for a BOOK TOUR believe it or m=not -- paid for by my small university press for De Madre INfiglia -- translation of Where She Cam From into Italian
Hi Karen, This looks like a fun site! Thanks for haulin me in. I sent you an email but it bounced. What's your new email? I'm in Becket. Wanna take a ride up here this weekend? Love Susie
oh, you write in German?
Yes, I do live in Germany. German is my mother tongue, actually. I write both in English and in German.
I tried to set up a group here for writers living in German-speaking countries or writing/reading in German (the group is called "Hunnies" - my attempt at a cute nickname, cough). There are no other members yet - but when I search for "German" it only shows 2 results, so I am not surprised about the low membership
Hello Karen, welcome to She Writes :-)
I like the ideas of your books a lot and the titles - they also remind me of some of my own non-fiction books ("Tu's doch" and one still unpublished book about relationships and how to finally stop being single, but without settling for some dumbass).
