Hi Doreen, Thanks for the message. I am glad to hear that Tate Publishing is interested in your work. I found Tate to be quite helpful and supportive to me in this experience. I was impressed with Stacy Baker who was my acquisitions rep. and it was a pleasure working with Kristen Verser who designed the cover of my book. Most of all I really enjoyed working with Nathan Harmony who worked with me on the layout design. He was receptive to my ideas, and very creative in his suggestions. I would definitely recommend Tate Publishing, but also be aware that you will have to do your share in promoting and making the book a success. Just go for it with gusto! - Jean

It feels good to be part of something that I so enjoy, writing. Due to an illness in my family, I am not doing much writing these days but hope to start up soon. I still practice writing in my journal almost daily and still hope to keep in touch with everyone on, She Writes, as often as I can. J. Nolting
Oh Doreen -- I am so sorry about your step-son's accident. I will/am definitely sending prayers for him your way. Is there anything else I can do to help? Again, I am so so sorry. Keep me updated. Love, Rebecca
Hi there -- just wanted to drop by your page and invite you personally (or at least virtually) to our first-ever She Writes Philadelphia meetup, celebrating our first-anniversary! We are so grateful to the event's organizer, Jessica Keenan Smith, for taking a risk and stepping up to host. I hope you will support her and bring yourself and other women who write (no need for them to be members) to the Philadelphia gathering. At the meetup writers will take part in the She Writes "Book Communion," where attendees arrive with one book, their own or another She Writers', new or gently used, and leave with another book as a meaningfully way to support one another's work. We will also be blowing out a candle and making a wish for our upcoming writing year -- along with She Writers gathering in 16 cities around the country. I hope you will be part of this historic (well, at least kind of cool) occasion, and RSVP now to Jessica here.
Just wanted to say hello, been meaning to connect with you. Was over at 2KoP today and thus read the coffee anecdote; my sympathy and love. You have been kind to support Feral Mom. At some point (summer madness) maybe we could do a blogswap.
Thanks for the outreach, Doreen- and I appreciate you leaving a nice comment on my sad little blog! It's great to have some kind of connection/support through here- will be keeping tabs on your blog and work. Best to you. :)

Aww, thank you, Doreen!! Glad you stopped by! I hope I can find inspiration and support here too. I've been looking for a place like this for quite some time, since my online writer's group went kaput! :-)
Doreen...thank you so much for the compliment!! I just popped over to yours quickly...oh my gosh, it looks so good! Following you now and plan to go back later to read some of your work when I have more time to delve into it...looks like SUCH a great read!
"Hi Iowa City Writers! I'm working on a project that's part historical scholarship, part historical fiction, about my father's family. He came from a provincial family of German-Jewish butchers. He and his brother were sent on the…"
