So glad you connected. Being new to She Writes is a bit intimidating at times. Looking forward to getting to know you through your posts, discussions, and messages if you are so inclined.
Hi Bev, Thanks for connecting. I'm a fellow Canadian by birth now Oregonian but many childhood experiences came to mind reading some of your blog posts. Nancy
Wow, Bev, going from the east coast to the prairie must have been a huge culture shock for you. Thanks for adding me as a friend. My blog is penpaletteheart.wordpress.com
Hi Bev, I stopped by your blog and love it! Tried to leave a comment but it would only accept my old blog address which is no longer in use. Damn! I will have to try again if it continues. I'll be back to read more. You are truly hilarious.
Beverly, welcome to Writers in Canada. We're happy to have you with us! Do drop in to our Introductions thread and share a bit about yourself and your work. Care to share where you're from and where you are now? What brings you to us? Links to your work and other well-meant self-promotion efforts are always encouraged as are friends. Invite another writer to join us, will you? /djw
Hi Beverly! Thanks for visiting my blog. I am in the process of changing that last post due to extenuating circumstances, but I checked you out as well. You share a similar wit! Glad to meet you!
Hi Beverly, Thanks for friending me. I'm new to She Writes so your reaching out is doubly appreciated. I have my first book signing in a couple of hours so I'm off to focus on that. Kate
I did send a message Beverly, but it was too long for the friend request box. I wanted to say that I love your picture. My husband and I renovated a house like this in Sask.It had stood derelict for years on the outskirts of our town. I loved it there. In truth I wished he had never sold it.
From Val H. Saskatchewan.Welcome to Procrastinators.
I want to Thank You for joining my group Blooming Late! You wrote in your comment to join that you are trying to find your voice.
WELL I took the liberty of reading your blog and you must know you already have your voice and its much more well rounded than many writers I might add. Your blog is funny and personable and your writing really is endearing! ALSO I read the confessions part, so that you wont be uncomfortable about that, Ill share that very recently I have found myself gawking at these young guys on TV, I mean REALLY gawking! Yes, I AM a closet cougar. lol Now I gotta check that guy Willie on Swamp People, I never had cause to watch the show before!
ANYWAY-
Now let me fill you in a little about us here at Blooming Late-
There are many wonderful women like you here in our group from all over the worls and all ages, genres and levels of writing who are a real source of support, encouragement and inspiration. I hope that you will be able to make your writing home with us!
Please, when you have time let us get to know you a bit better by posting in our "To kick things off" discussion or if you don't feel like doing an extensive intro. then just say Hello" on our wall on the front page.
We have just started something new here too. We have launched our own group platform,we have our own group blog called "The Blooming Late Journal" which link can be found in our Discussion area if you would like to write a post in there and then plug your blog, your book and your own platform once you have them but you can write about anything anytime.
Then we have our own Twitter hashtag so we can talk to each other in there as well as make sure to re-tweet each others blog posts and important links, etc. It is #BLWriters - just add it to any of your tweets so the group can see them by looking for the hashtag.
And best of all, we have our own Facebook Fanpage under "Blooming Late Authors", please LIKE the page and then feel free to do your plugging in there as well as put things in there that you may find useful or fun for the group to see.
We would like it also, if as time allows, you would "friend" everyone in the group in here as well as in Facebook and Twitter so that our groups publicity potential is maximized for all the writing work we do and is seen out there on the net.
We also have a PAGES section to the left of the group wall where you can list your great blog as well as your FB/Twitter handles if you have them (which I would ask on the latter, if you could get that up right away so that everyone could connect with you), among other things like your birthday etc.
We also have useful DISCUSSION areas that might be a help to your writing. You can choose to follow as many or as little Discussions as will interest and help you,we don't have any requirements on how much anyone participates but I would ask if you will set your settings in here to recieve the group emails so that you can be kept up on anything important in the group as a whole. On average I only email the entire group once a month.
Also, if there's anything I can personally do, I'll be happy to help with anything you may need. Again, forgive me for that partial welcome, but sincere thanks for being a member!
