Hi Lesley Anne!  I just posted a children's poem on my blog and wondered if you would peruse it. I was wondering if I could have it made into a small book along with beautiful pictures of the different birds. It may sell in a Christian bookstore setting. Please give me your honest opinion. Many thanks. Elizabeth.

Thank you for the welcome. I'm still settling down after helping at the Wellness & Writing Connections conference. Hopefully I'll be participating around here sooner rather than later.

Thank you for welcoming me, Lesley-Anne. You know, the voice of self-doubt is still way too prevalent in my thinking. I came to this group and my internal dialogue was yapping away, "You know, they are all professionals and won't accept you." I told it to shut up and hit send. I'm looking forward to the discussions I'll find here. It's a renewal for me and I'm excited! I hope that I can contribute to your site, as well, and be an asset here.

Just another word ... I imagine that you are busy with your poetry reading ... How good is that!

Just discovered a new poet ... I would think you might know her?? Margaret Avison ... a Canadian poet of some standing. I am intrigued by her. Have put her on my list of books that must be read.

Am very much working on my Journalling and using an online Journal, which has a memory-grabber ... (should be useful to find the line, or thought, that you know you have written SOMEWHERE??????? Basing the journalling on 'Writing from the Soul' .. which is enabling me to come back to a writing assignment which I was frightened off a decade ago ... all good stuff. Have the same anxiety as we all do .. in approaching creative writing again .. will it still be there ... can I hope to make connection with it again .... Why DO WE DO THIS TO OURSELVES????

Hi Lesley-Anne - Good to be back in touch via Shewrites. Much going on here. Have a couple of webinair downloads, which I am dying to hear. And, ordered a few books over the passed few months from the range offered. Am pouring over Dostoevsky just now (The Idiot) .. ... interesting as I havent really delved into the writer before on this level. Found a DVD of 'Crime and Punishment' - marvellous. And have alongside Rowan Williams 'Doestoevsky - Language, Faith and Fiction'. The latter makes the point that we are facing similar societal challenges in today's world, as was Russia at this time. All good stuff ... something to get my teeth into. And, my brains going on a literary bent. An indulgence ... as I am not working at present ... having a break on part of my super which I have cashed up.

Happy Birthday to Yoooooooooouuuuuuuuu! And much love to you, Lesley-Anne. I hope you will be feeling that, especially with the recent publication of your poetry, that you have much to start your coming year .. that is good.

I am sure that is true for both of us, Cancerians!

Much love and blessings, looking forward to much more to share with you.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope my blog does not offend anyone. It's not my intention to shove my faith down peoples' throats. I just thought I'd leave the link in case anyone was interested and mention what the main content is. I'm pretty open on my blog because it was created as an avenue of release and a place to journal things as I'm incredibly absent minded. I've just started a separate blog for more general writing. things that aren't personal or faith related. maybe I should put a link for that up once I have more content. I'll check out the group too. Thanks!

Hi, Leslie-Ann,

Thank you so much for your note. Absolutely no worries on this end. And: I don't think you are pathetic, and I doubt God does. I will try to reply more fully; perhaps tomorrow? Tonight I am packing p for a weekend camping trip. Would this be the moment to make Spanish Rice. And yet, thiss is the case.

Be well, we shall "speak" soon.
Your new friend,
Alle

Lesley-Anne, Thank you for connecting here at SW. Reading your poem, knowing you across the border, at Okananagan Lake, I'm transported, a decade and a half ago to a weekend on "our" side, following trails, searching Native American remedies in plant life, grilling a salmon with my old half brother, reading Amy Tan. And all that triggered by a soap bubble, a spray of water from a hose, fresh washed locks and carefully chosen words that linger on and on.

Oh you are so welcome. After I left you a comment, I realized I was about a year behind but I just joined SW, read your poem and it really spoke to my heart (which is always the measure of a good poem in my book), so I guess the old adage "never too late" applies here, too :).
