I just pressed send! The manuscript for my new memoir CRASH! is now in the capable hands of my editor Mary Norris at Globe Pequot Press (a month and a day under deadline!) I've gotten feedback from my agent and my writing group so CRASH! is as good as I can make it for now. But I'm looking forward to Mary's suggestions for revision. Visit me at www.carolyroybornstein.com and share all your wild and wooly stories of first books, memoirs, dealings with agents and editors and everything in between. It'll be a welcome distraction from all the nail-biting!
My new book, The Unofficial Mad Men Cookbook: Inside the Kitchens, Bars, and Restaurants of Mad Men (BenBella, 2011), co-authored with Peter Zheutlin will be released next month.

I am new at SheWrites and while I am happy to be here, I am even happier to announce the release of my first book, Hidden From Destiny. It is a Fantasy Sword & Sorcery novel, with romance. My main focus in writing is the heroine, and my stories focus around their journey, with the men who support them. Hidden From Destiny can be found at nightfallpublications.com (my company), amazon.com and bn.com. I write under the pen name Micaela Fischer. My fan page on Facebook is Micaela Fischer - Author.
I am also an editor of most genres. I would be happy to provide a quote for any project.
With great pleasure, I would like to announce the official release of my first book, Transgender Employment Experiences (SUNY Press).
Transgender Employment Experiences combines policy analysis with the lived experiences of twenty transgender-identified employees, showing how worker protections that should exist under the Civil Rights Act are instead systematically undermined in the case of many transgender employees. Rather than focusing solely on negative experiences, however, I highlight the positive experiences respondents had coming out at work, illustrating examples of best practices in response to transitioning.
You can become a fan of the book on Facebook (http://on.fb.me/transbookonFB) where I will be sharing my press hits and announcing any readings. For those of you in NYC, I hope you’ll join me for a collaborative event I’m doing at Bluestockings on Monday, October 3rd on using stories to pass trans-inclusive laws and policies. You can also follow me on Twitter (http://twitter.com/#!/kylabb)
I have frequently tapped into the wealth of knowledge contained in this community while working on this book. Thank you!

I am so excited that my weekly column 'Virginia's State of Mind' in the Naples Daily News has been successful and I am working on my 16th article. I am on the cover of the Community section and am shocked to see my picture there every Thursday. The first time I saw my name in print was one of the best days of my life.Virginia's State of Mind Article on Gaddafi

I launched a revamp of my writing coaching website, www.artofstorytellingonline.com. I'm particularly proud of the work of my clients excerpted on the Case Studies page. I passionately believe in helping others excavate and express their authentic voices.
I have revamped my blog to include reviews, guest bloggers, group writing exercises and interviews. I would love for you to join me at http://ggvandagriff.com/blog. I hope to help solidify our sisterhood of the written word!
I have three bits of good news to share with the fine women of She Writes:
1. My author website launched www.kmwalton.com (my youngest sister designed the site and she is truly a creative genius).
2. My contemporary YA novel titled CRACKED, was blurbed by James Howe (author of the Bunnicula series and The Misfits series). His blurb makes me smile like a loon:
"In this powerful debut novel, K.M. Walton takes an unrelenting look at the corrosive effects of bullying, sometimes coming from where one would least expect it. CRACKED crackles with emotional intensity from beginning to end."
3. My blog is a finalist in the Philadelphia's Most Valuable Blogger contest. If you feel so inclined, I sure could use some votes. You are allowed to vote once a day until September 9th. If you click HERE it'll take you right to the voting button. It's pretty easy and you don't have to sign up or anything. All you do is click on the voting button.
That's it for my good news. I'm about to scroll down and read everyone else's ; )
