Well, it's only typically 15% of your royalty, which is only 4%-10%, depending on the PH. That comes to pennies per book for you, and fractions of pennies for them. It's very little for someone who knows the ins and outs of major publishers. Not to mention the fact that over half of the publishers out there, and all the big ones, require an agent.

Thanks. He died the very next year, so by the time I remembered anything had happened to me (I blocked the experience for 5 years), I had no one to confront. In a way, I feel like I dodged a bullet. I have a wonderful, supportive and loving family, so I feel quite fortunate.
