Hi Nina, thanks so much for your note, I appreciate it! I posted my name on the thread you mentioned and will try to buddy up with some folks in the next few days, in the meantime, I'm typing fast and trying to catch up!
Well its only day 2 and so knocking wood and throwing salt over my shoulder simultaneously lol I have 5400. It is not coming in a torrent but its coming and...and...ah crap, that is all I can say yet. What about you Nina, is it coming? I know early days yet but I'd love to hear.

Just so you know -- I have decided to take the remove the "gifts" function from our network -- it was taking up a lot of space on everyone's profile page and at the top of our main page. I know you gave a few and that is so nice; I hope you don't mind that they will come down now.
Warm best, and please let me know if there is anything I can do for you on She Writes,
Kamy
lol I know what you mean Nina, ahh screw it, I'll start with the story I think (hope) I have and if I run out of words I will try and seque it into other stuff which is something I have never done before but desperate times and all that stuff lol. Right now I am so obsessesed with trying to get a banner going-too stupid to manage it that I am not even thinking of the book great place to be in three days before takeoff argh!
Hi Nina, I am so happy to be on here with other fellow martyrs! I think the support and commiseration will be key. I wonder if anyone else has developed thirty or forty different ideas and discarded them one by one? Today I am back at square one, but Saturday looms and I have to write something. Oh and Jane Hamilton, Stephen King and John Irving have now all said no to my brain transplant idea lol lol
Hi Nina, Not me on the NanoWriMo website, but there IS an awesome site for Young Writers Program Nanowrimo (ywpnanowrimo.org) My 12 year old wanted to do the noveling and then we thought it would be fun to bring it to his 6th grade classmates and then I went in and talked to the teachers and kids and assistant principal so it looks like it's gonna happen! The most difficult part has been the administations of where and when and what kind permission slip. But the site itself has all sorts of extremely well done educational material for teachers and educators, including a Teacher's "Lounge" etc. How old is your son?
Heeeeey! I was wondering how I would find you ... but you found me.. Hurrah! Getting a bit stressed about NaNo as i have done no plotting what so ever yet. I have a writing assignment to post by 30th October for my degree course! Aaargh. See you soon
Thanks for the friendly greeting. I am feeling pretty sressed at the mo - trying to complete an assignment whilst preparing for NaNo and a school inspection... phew. No pressure then! Looking forward to it all however.

Hi Nina, yes indeed that is what I meant. And thank you I'd love to add you as a friend, jeez this is crazy isnt it coming up with a book in zero time, what started as a quasi innoncent tale of Natalie Woods last hour at least I thought it was only an hour in the water-may have been as much as three-shiver has now led me into hearing some of the weirdest stories ever. Strange how that can happen in a book huh? Anyway I'll hit the friend button on Nano, so cool to have friends in the trenches

Support during the month? I have an idea: If we add one another as friends on the NanoWriMo site, we can follow along the progress/wordcount. My name on Nano is Lcubed. Feel free to add me as a friend. And others can post what their moniker on the site is so we can find each other.

Hi Nina! That's so nice of you to tell me that you remember my book. It was a lot of fun to write, and last summer we got reprinted. I too only write four mornings a week while my younger child is at pre-K. But lately it's like treading water...
Thanks Nina! I've already warned my inner-critic that he'll have to go on vacation in November (hopefully somewhere far, far away, like Tierra Del Fuego) and I'll look into those books you recommended.
Thanks so much for the kind words, Nina, and for welcoming me to the NaNoWriMo group. (It's my first year doing this, so I am very excited.) It's funny about the blog post ... I thought I'd had an RSS feed set up with my latest posts (I generally blog every day) but apparently not since that one was from June or July! - Melissa
Yes, let's share some deadlines. I respond to accountability. It goes hand in hand with guilt, and my Catholic mother knew all aboul handing out the guilt!
Nina,
Just read your NANO group comment about prepping for 2009 while you are still revising the manuscript from 2008. Thank you, thank you. I was feeling like a slug because I was still dragging through scenes from last year's NANO project. I'll cut myself some slack.
See you in November!
