I'm off working on a deadline for my memoirs. And writing poems as they come or go. I'm only as far as an e-mail.

And thank you, Padmavani, for discovering me here and finding your way to my blog. There is something about 'lipstick,' isn't there, and I really appreciated your comment.

Wow, I am going to have this excert written out in fountain pen on beautiful paper and then have it framed. It will sit on my desk to remind me of you and thought that went into finding the verse for me. Thank you dear friend!

Dear Padmavani,

I am overcome with joy at the letter I received from Maureen Doallas today concerning the prize which you won in the competition on her website, but requested be forwarded to me. This honour is truly humbling and the book is something I will always treasure. The generosity which both of you exhibit is inspirational.

Many thanks,

Elizabeth.

Just read "Common Ground" - I really enjoyed your poem - the images are very rich and sensual, definitely draw you in to the "story" of the piece. The pace in I and II propels you forward. Great writing. I'm hoping for the relationship to build anew!

Hello Padmavani:

Nothing of my mom's on-line, I'm afraid.  (I'm going to have to harass her about that.  She has two poetry chapbooks for sale and no samples.)  I have a couple of blogposts on my Red Room page.

Padmavani:  Thanks for the kind comment.  My mother is still an active writer:  this afternoon she's recording some of her poetry for a podcast contest.

Hi Padma,  Thank you for your kind comments on my attempts at a blog.   This is all new to me and I am very grateful for any support.   I loved reading your poems too.  I have a little Padma that lives with us, sometimes, a beautiful three year old girl full of life and kindness.  It's nice to meet another one!

Best,

Cassandra

Padma, I finally got a minute to visit your blog (great name!).

Your "i see you have left" carries the weight we all know from having to say goodbyes in a hospital room. You set the scene well.  Your lines "in the silence of a broken house, / i hear animal sounds" is powerful.

"he is going home on a train" is evocative, elegiac.

I'd like to invite you to post sometime at One Shoot Wednesday at One Stop Poetry. It's a great forum for introducing yourself to other online poets.

Thank you for sharing your work. ~ Maureen

Hi Padmavani, thank you so much. It's so inspiring to read and to be read. I may be a bit later on posting because I'm on deadline for our memoir. I'll message you when I post, and I'll keep reading your post. Thanks again.
