I'm a Christian, self-taught jeweller, gemology student, history lover, fairytale geek, Tolkienite, trekkie, collector of alphabets, conlang hobbyist, and all round word-nerd. Currently, I reside northern mid-Michigan with my family, but I was born in Cork City, Ireland where my parents served as missionaries for 13 years.
Although I've been an avid book-lover for most of my life, transitioning from reader to author has been a recent, and still on-going, adventure and something that only became a serious pursuit in the spring of 2017. Writing fiction started out as nothing more than a hobby for me and a competition with my siblings as to who could finish their book first, but, early in 2017, a situation at my part-time job plunged me into pursuing authorship beyond just the hobby level. I set aside my other hobby projects (temporarily) and began writing a new story. In just two months this new determination had propelled me to complete a (roughly) 90,000 word-count YA/NA fiction novel and, after another two months of editing, revising, formatting, and cover design I had it self-published. My author journey is far from complete, and I'm still working to leave that part-time job, but I'm hopeful. Right now, I'm in the middle of writing a quintet, a trilogy, a stand-alone novel, and a book that may or may not become another series. I write (clean) Young Adult/New Adult science fiction/fantasy with some of my favorite sub-genres being: Steampunk, dystopia, alternative history, and retellings.
