Dear Diary,
I cannot believe that the formatters are taking so long. We are already up to 73 emails between us; and we are still working on the kindle file. Good grief! But on the other hand, I can’t believe that the likes on Facebook are up to over 45,000. It’s hard for me to believe that that many people are even interested in hearing my story.
And you will not believe it, but one of the boys from the village who used to play at our home contacted me on Facebook. He said that he recognized my picture and couldn’t believe it. He was so happy to have found me after so many years; it has been at least 11 years since I have seen him or Kalu.
He told me that everyone in the village still remembers and loves me very much. That is so great to know. I kind of thought that they had forgotten who I was--since I left so long ago and had divorced out of the family. He even talked about two of his favorite things that he remembers. One, playing in the pool at our home, and the next, playing on the waterbed that I had received from the States as a gift. Wow. Such great memories.
I often wonder if the rest of the kids remember me too. He said that he misses me, and that I was a big part of his childhood, and that he cannot wait to read my book. (and let me say here, I am really impressed at his English skills of today.) Well, I told him that I miss Kalu too. I really do.
