I never use Linkedin although on occasion I'll post a link to my first book, if it's on sale or free. Otherwise it languishes in the back of my Social Media Plan. With 300+ million members, it's the world's largest professional network and they claim to get a lot of people work.

I admit to often okaying a stranger who wants to connect and once I got a nibble from a man who wanted me to scrape his screenplay for content. The paces this moron put me through, the lies he told, were so ridiculous I outed him - via his real name - on my old blog, along with copies of his lies. He refused to pay me and I was only charging $100 so I never sent him my corrections. His writing was a mess so good luck with that in Hollywood where they are not kind when it comes to screenplays.

But it's this notification from Linkedin that made me realize how completely useless it is:

This was one of the people I okayed as a connection because he was in show business, so I guess it's my fault, really.
