I have no patience.

I sent my manuscript to some beta readers. What I didn't send was a deadline to finish their notes on it. Is that even a thing, can authors trap feedback into a time frame or is that rude? I'm trying to remember how long it's taken me to read a fellow author's draft but I know it's not long. Three or four days, tops. Because I know they're waiting on me and because I'm a Type A personality, a disease not covered on Web MD.

In high school there was always a deadline on a paper and I never started it until the night before. It should come as no surprise to anyone that I was a terrible student. This waiting on beta readers is Mrs. Tuwiner's karmic revenge on my terrible history papers.

Because I'm so impatient, I've started a rewrite on my own. While my obviously very busy readers are at the pool with a margarita.

That will teach them.
