The night before my official pub date, I joined She Writes Press authors Hollye Dexter and Jo Ivester for the first official event of my book tour and of the She Writes Press tour at large. We were in Phoenix, home of SparkPoint Studio (the parent company of She Writes Press), at the big, bustling, fabulous indie bookstore Changing Hands. The three of us read from our books, but we also engaged in a conversation about publishing and writing, which was great. It is the plan to do this at every She Writes Press event: it's all about our community. (Everything good and successful I've ever done in my life has been focused on community, and I don't want this tour to be any different!) We will look for She Writes members in our audiences and use this as an opportunity to help you meet locally in the cities we are visiting. I hope you will join us!!

I just came back from the COOLEST event: The SheWrites book tour in Los Angeles at Book Soup. I learned 2 things:
1. It pays to post here! Not only did Kamy know who I am (that made me feel so special!), but so did Laura Nicole Diamond, whose parents, it turns out are long-time environmental cohorts of mine.
2. SheWrites is publishing some fine, talented writers! It was a joy to hear such a variety of books and genres, and I was so proud (unjustified, I know) to be a part of this community. Rock on, ladies! I wish you all the best with your fabulous books!

So, I'll finally get to meet The Kamy Wicoff...signed copy and all? Looking forward to it!
