I decided to blog my book, and I'm glad I did.
After launching my blog this past September, I was relieved. After all, I had been working on it for quite a while.
At first everything went smoothly, but soon it began to feel like extra work.
It was hard to create content for the blog and keep up with my WIP and writing projects. It became too much and began to affect my writing.
That's when I learned about how-to-blog-a-book.
It appealed to me, the idea of not having to create double content.
This strategy has its critics, though. As a new writer, it was hard to tell whether or not it was the right strategy for my book.
The benefits of blogging-a-book
I started blogging my book this past week and already feel good about it.
I'm writing again and loving it!
As a result, I finished and submitted a personal story I’d been working on. (Happy to report it was selected as one of the stories to be published next year.)
I'm no longer concerned as to whether or not it is the right strategy. The benefits outweigh any concern I had.
And this is the reason I decided to write this post. To share what I learned.
Here's a glimpse of some of the benefits and/or lessons learned:
And these are only a few of the benefits.
In my next post I'll expand on some of these, just in case someone is contemplating blogging-a-book.
