At 6:30 when I take my husband to the railway station it is dark and cold, at 5:30 when I pick him up from the railway station, guess what? it’s still cold and dark.

In between this it is generally cold and wet, cold and windy, cold and dry, or even cold and snowy.

And I’m sick of it, I want to see the sun, I want warmth, I want salad for lunch, I want to be able to read my book in the car while I wait for the train without shivering or angling the book towards the nearest lampost, I want, I want, I want it not to be winter anymore.

This cold time has seemed interminable, maybe it’s because last summer was a bit of a washout, literally! We had so much rain in the British Isles last year . It was the second wettest year since records began in 1910. It only missed being first by 6.6 mm!

So Mr Weatherman, give us some good news, tell me that the damned jet stream has moved northwards and that we are in for a long , hot summer, please….

Changing the subject, I am writing a novel, I bought Scrivener for my Mac, but I’m having a terrible time trying to work out how to use it to it’s fullest advantage. It has so many features that it will take me a while. But today my newest book arrived. Scrivener for Dummies, so it’s away with the laptop and time to settle down in front of the fire with a mug of hot chocolate and the book.
