Let's give a big Valentine to the person who gave us this life. Now I don't have the illusion that everyone had a good relationship with her mom, or that we were always treated with kindness. But most moms did the best they could and here we are with this precious chance to do our own learning and healing. There's no bigger gift than that.

So when it comes to love, I want to send a big Heart to my mother, who is also the main character in my recent memoir, "The Woman in the Photograph." So often we only know our moms through her role. Long after my mother's death I found out so much more about what made her the person she is. Thanks to my mom and all moms. Happy Valentines.
