Why Do I Write?
Contributor

Why do I write?

It’s not because I can boast to others that I have something published (although this is a nice side benefit).

It’s not because I want to stay home, in my writer’s den, with a pen (or keyboard) in hand all day long (although this is a very nice dream).

It’s not because Muse would drive me insane if I don’t (although this happens regardless if I write or not).

So, why do I write?

I write because it is what I was born to do.

I may never be a great writer, or have very few works published.

I’m completely at peace with that.

I write because words are the music from my soul.

Without them…

I am nothing.
